Shri B D Tatti (Annavaru) Memorial Charitable Trust established in 1994, works for the welfare and development of persons with disabilities in Karnataka. Over the years, the Trust rapidly expanded its work and has reached persons with disabilities, including children, youth and adults in 11 Districts of Karnataka till date. This program is the dream program of our Chairman and Hon. Secretary of the organization. It was begins with 10 students only during the time of establishment. Presently we have 192 students with HI are studying happily. Here, in this program we have sufficient infrastructure to all respective classes and using total communication for the benefit of deaf students to get clarify from the teaching of various concepts.
It is Specialised School in North Karnataka. It is only one centre to provide and implemented oral deaf education to the deaf child at early age in the North Karnataka. We reached 40 parents and their children have finished this education and studying in the Normal schools. The other benefit of this education program is developing mother as a resourceful teacher, through this method we are providing education which helps them to speak and share individual feelings in front of other mother. This is three year education for the early detected child, both child and mother have to be stay in the campus, if the child detected at the age of three to six month is the right time for improve the speech and developing the hearing capacity. To develop hearing capacity we provide speech therapy, experimental teaching, one to one teaching, exchanging child to other mother and also providing hearing aids.
This is for the delay development children of 0-6 years where all service will be given in the community based. This is specialized programme for newly born babies/children in the working area. The programme is efficient for those who detected early and get early benefitted. We undergone the screening process for early identification of children, those who identified through screening, assess the child for appliance and therapy and follow up for the same. Early education is the unique program for the disables who left or who perceive the education in the school. Mainly it educates the basic requirements for their day to day disability management and creating awareness about various schemes from the government and other organization.
Livelihood program is for the adults with the age of 18+ and the program is supported by Enable India, Bangalore. It is a Centre where we connect with companies and the differently able people to create opportunities for livelihood. Where we provide skills to differently able people and place them job to the companies. It is a pilot project where BDT needs to learn and experiment more in this space. SWASHAKTI aims at providing rural livelihoods for persons with disability (PWDs) in the state of Karnataka. This campaign fosters ownership and collaboration among disability NGOs and other stakeholders working at a Gross-root level promoting further collaborations to ensure growth and sustainability. The district saturation model helps to deepen the work in reaching out to people with different disabilities in that region based on the results in this and the next year. The finalized model can be further ready to replicate to other regions in the state/country.
Biswa Gouri Charitable Trust & IDFC FIRST Bank initiated program Aadhar Outreach for the year2020-2021 focuses on capacity building program of trainers to run effective learning using structured teaching framework. In 2020-2021, we have been on boarded along with 4 other NGOs across Karnataka and West Bengal working in the area of disability to establish and run Primary Intervention unit (upto 10 years) as per best practices at Bubbles Centre for Autism (program of BGCT) Kindly remove that starting image and put the building of ours and also put the guide star of our NGo
Primary Intervention for Children with Disabilities(0-10 years)
With the help of BGCT and IDFC First Bank Activities has been given to Intellectual Disabilities and Autism Children, where teachers will build the various skill in the children like sensory, gross motor, fine motor etc. With the help of IEP(Individual Education Plan). for whole 2 months
World Youth Day Celebration
On January 12, 2022 we celebrated 159th World Youth Day on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda's Birthday were all the staff members and children gathered in that.
From Special school to Normal school
07 years old Sinchana Lamani lives with her mother, father, and sister. She was born in Keralli Thanda which is rural side of North karanataka. From birth she was identified as hearing impairment.Parents showed her to many hospital and it did not helped the child as she was profound loss. She communicates usually gestures and with some speech. Her father came to know about Shri B D Tatti(A)memorial Charitable Trust Laxmeshwar through our BDT staff and visited the Shushravya Pre-primary school for Oral Deaf education and seek guidance for her condition. Over there her father was guided for welfare services such as disability pension and education and residential facilities. With lot of efforts in speech intervention she is now been expert in speaking and the studies, there is indeed improvement in the academic and social behavior aspect of Sinchana Lamani. Now she is studying in normal English medium school.

Aadhar Outreach Program
Fakkiragouda Patil, 9-year-old was born at Laxmeshwar District Gadag, Karnataka. At the age of Four (4), was diagnosed with Intellectual disability and is enrolled in BDT. His father earns his living working as a coolie in the local area to provide for the family of 5.The child was completely dependent on others for all his physical needs before intervention. According to the observation, he has no social skills, self-care, attention and interest and suffers from physical negligence. After primary intervention, his activities like feeding, toileting has improved along with his socializing skils with others and his ability to stand has improved. Now, the parents are making efforts to improve his communication skills. They are quite satisfied with the process his developmental activities are taking place. On November 13th,18th,23rd and 29th 2021 we took parents meeting of all students by batch wise to discuss about over all progress of the children as well as the school progress and covid protocols
Law Awareness Programme from Lawyers
On November 11, 2021 Mr. N. Bellad, R.S. Mudagal , Mrs. Sarvamangala K.M., N Pratapkumar, J D Doddamani, and other lawyers of Association Laxmeshwar visited to our institution to give the Awareness of law to the children as well as Teachers
On November 1st 2021 we celebrated Karnataka Rajyotsava in Our School. Mr. K A Baliger Retired Head master our chief guest said that we all have to preserve and cultivate the language of kannada. It is the responsibility of teachers to save the culture and practices of our country for generation to come. The Honorary Secretary Mr. Somanath Mahajanashettar of the institute presided over the program and said that the new policy will enable them to make technology based education accessible to their mother tongue a number of changes in the learning of particular school children.
From Home to Residential School
10 years old Dayanand Talawar lives with his mother, father,two brothers and sister. He was borin in Soratur which is rural side of North karanataka. From birth he was identified as hearing impairment.Parents showed him to many hospital and it did not helped the child as he was profound loss. He communicates usually gestures and sign language. His father came to know about Shri B D Tatti(A)memorial Charitable Trust Laxmeshwar through our BDT staff and visited the residential school for hearing impairment seek guidance for his condition. Over there his father was guided for welfare services such as disability pension and education and residential facilities. With lot of efforts in sign language intervention he is now been expert in sign language and the studies, there is indeed improvement in the academic and social behavior aspect of Dayanand and he is champion in mallakamba sport.
On 12th october 2021, Abhishek P Karajagi, 6-year-old was born at Laxmeshwar District Gadag, Karnataka. The child enrolled in BDT at the age of 4 years with the diagnosis of Global Developmental Delay. He resides in a household of 6 and her father earns his living working as a coolie in the local area. He was completely dependent on others for all his needs. It was observed that he had no social skills, self-care, attention and interest and was not able to walk independently as he used to crawl. After primary intervention, his activities have developed and has started walking independently and got feeding, toileting, and started socializing with others. Now, his parents are putting efforts to improve his communication skills. His parents are happy with his developmental stages and thanks to the Aadhar Outreach Program, a capacity building program for staff on Primary Intervention( a joint collaboration of Biswa Gouri Charitable Trustand IDFC FIRST Bank
It is the small change that makes the biggest impact.
And more students have passed out from our residential school for the hearing impaired.
Students are mainstreamed to the normal school from our pre-primary school for hearing impaired.
Students have been given activity based therapy as part of our early education intervention program
Students have been enrolled in Anganwadi and school.
Students have been enrolled under social security schemes.
